In the keynote speech session, Geng Juncheng, General Manager of Chipone LED Business Unit, shared the content of "Development Trend of High Grayscale Driver IC Technology and MLED Product Application" with online and offline guests.


Geng Juncheng introduced the different definitions of Mini LED backlight in upstream, middle and downstream enterprises, the technical difficulties and control problems of Mini LED backlight in small-size products, the technical route of Mini LED backlight and the parameters, characteristics and advantages of ICND8603B of Mini LED local dimming driver chip in North Mini LED.

 

About "How does the driver IC performance meet the requirements of the development trend of LED display?" This problem, Geng Juncheng focused on low power consumption, low gray high refresh, low gray correction, high integration, high frame rate, PWM+AM and other requirements, and further discussed the requirements of relevant driver IC products in line with the development trend of LED display.



He said that from the design point of view, to meet the low-power circuit design, the power consumption of the internal circuit of the IC must be optimized; On the load, the product should reach more than 48 channels of ultra-high integration, 128 scanning high scanning design; In terms of control, to achieve low power consumption of the control module, the power consumption needs to be reduced from 12.5 (W/㎡) to 2 (W/㎡); In terms of process, from 180nm to 110nm, 90nm, and even 55nm, it is constantly shrinking.

 

In addition, Geng Juncheng also conducted a detailed analysis from the needs of IC low-power consumption target, low-gray effect optimization, AM driver, PM+AM hybrid dimming, and accurate low-gray image quality performance. He said that he hopes that through the advancement of display technology, he will continue to meet the new application needs of the market and make technical reserves and innovations for the development of the micro-display market.
